Helpful Tips
- For photographs, JPG or WebP usually gives the best compression.
- WebP can often achieve a much smaller file size while keeping good visual quality.
- PNG is better when transparency or lossless graphics are important.
- A 90%+ reduction is possible for some images, but it cannot be guaranteed for every image without visible quality changes.
- Very simple images can sometimes be compressed dramatically, while already-compressed photographs may not reduce as much.
- Target-size compression automatically searches for the closest practical file size.
- All normal image compression is performed directly inside your browser.
